Content:
Summer, sun, reggae - everything was simply perfect on that August evening. But Judith, Philip and Anouk would give anything for that night never to have happened. It was the night that they killed Jasmine. It was a tragic accident, one with no witnesses but themselves. Their vow of silence evolves into a moral dilemma. Feelings of guilt and fear weigh heavily on all of them as trust becomes mistrust, the strong become weak, and love deteriorates into hate.
The Author:
Marlene Röder, born in 1984, has exceptional narrative talent. Her first novel, In the River, was awarded the Hans-im-Glück prize by the city of Limburg even before it was published. The major German weekly newspaper "Die Zeit" judged: "Stylistically, Marlene Röder is without doubt in a class with the great role models of the post-war period, such as Heinrich Böll or Gabriele Wohmann."
